Les Cotils was originally an elegant Victorian house with breathtaking views over the east coast of Guernsey and the nearby islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark. The house is now a stunning events centre with 24 guest bedrooms set in 12 acres of stunning grounds and gardens.
The Pat Merriman Peace Garden was designed for all to enjoy but particularly for anyone undergoing a healing process from physical or mental ill health, as well as for those with, for example, autism and dementia. The garden was also be ideal as part of a social prescribing regime.
Designed by award winner local architect Andrew Dyke of CCD Architects and Chelsea gold medal-winning landscape artist Steve Welch of Welch Design. The garden is situated within an existing walled area of 2,000m² in Les Cotils’ grounds to the north of the main building. Access to the garden and the garden pathways are wheelchair friendly.
