House & Gardens

Les Cotils was originally an elegant Victorian house with breathtaking views over the east coast of Guernsey and the nearby islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark. The house is now a stunning events centre with 24 guest bedrooms set in 12 acres of stunning grounds and gardens.

The house

Les Cotils comprises 24 guest bedrooms, a residents’ lounge, and seven versatile conference rooms. Combined with our bar, restaurant, and coffee shop, these facilities cater to a diverse range of needs. We take pride in supporting the entire community and locally registered charities by offering discounted room hire and accommodation.

The gardens

Surrounded by 12 acres of beautifully maintained grounds and gardens, our private estate is an idyllic setting for outdoor celebrations, wedding receptions, and those all-important photographs. Our small, in-house team ensures that every corner of our gardens is a testament to nature’s beauty and tranquility.

The Pat Merriman Peace Garden was designed for all to enjoy but particularly for anyone undergoing a healing process from physical or mental ill health, as well as for those with, for example, autism and dementia. The garden was also be ideal as part of a social prescribing regime.

Designed by award winner local architect Andrew Dyke of CCD Architects and Chelsea gold medal-winning landscape artist Steve Welch of Welch Design. The garden is situated within an existing walled area of 2,000m² in Les Cotils’ grounds to the north of the main building. Access to the garden and the garden pathways are wheelchair friendly.
